week 2 and week 3

all things baby!
so its been some time since last we posted so here's the story.......
sadie has gained a pound as of june 29 and she has grown almost two inches!
she had her first doctors appointment and everything went well she was great until....we tried to leave and she decided it was time to eat and poop
her two favorite things so it took us about an hour to leave the doctors and three to get there
so we have learned moving fast with a new born is impossible
sadie can suck her thumb, left her head up, and actually has started to try to turn over!
she is a very strong and very independent little girl which makes aaron and i a little concerned for the teenage years.
since people have asked hers her birth story......
i will keep most of the graphics out but it was a very long delivery
i went into labor on june 14 at about 5:00 in the morning
the contractions were mild so i decided to sleep in
at about 11:00 the contractions started getting a little stronger so i called aaron at work and told him this was it! finally four days late she has decided to come play with her parents!
so aaron got home around 12:30 the contractions were still coming but not horrible
so we went and got some ice cream and walked around the library
the day progressed with us walking as much as we could up and down our street until the contractions were about 4 minutes apart time to go to the hospital......got to the hospital around 7:00 pm we got ourselves checked in and ready only to be told go home i had not dilated any more than 1 centimeter
UGH!!!
okay so home we go we were told come back when either the water breaks or the contractions are two minutes apart
so we walked some more up and down the street, we watched dodge ball (great movie to distract one from contractions) they kept coming stronger and closer, finally two minutes apart, i could barely walk much less talk at this point, back to the hospital we go its about 2:00 am
yup....we were sent back home i had only dilated one more centimeter the doctors gave us something to help me sleep and told us to go see my doctors at 9:30 that morning
so we get back home around 4:00 am and tried to sleep only to wake up at 8:00 drive to my doctors
still only 2 centimeters dilated
bec and aaron are now getting super tired
the contractions are about 2 minutes apart and very very strong
my doctor said go back to the hospital and this time they will not tell us to go home
so back to the hospital we go......
since things were not happening to fast the doctors started giving me things to speed up the contractions
aaron was a great coach helping me breath and getting me through some really rough contractions
several hours later sadie was still not coming so.....the doctor decided to do a c section
at this point i had been in labor for close to 30 hours only about six of these hours did i actually have the epidural
so a little after midnight on june 16th sadie decided to join us!
33 hours in labor and now we are a very happy family!

Now thats what I call a sweet little family photo. You all look very happy and Little Miss Sadie sure looks like her daddy did at that age. I'm sure Becky that your family see's a little Becky when they look at her.Looks like she is growing very fast and one of you need to tell her to slow down and not try to grow up so fast. There's more than enough time to do that. You all take care and I hope Becky is better soon. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Love ya! Aunt Cyndie

sucking her thumb and rolling over?! Crazy fast learner! Our little Kristof is only doing those things now at 2 months not 2 WEEKS! Congrats to the 3 of you. I'm so very super genuinely happy for you Becky and so glad I decided to take a peak at your blog! I'll check back often so keep it up! Hope you will bring the family to visit us in France (we just bought a B&B!) hugs to all,
Jeanne

wow, you have friends in France and family in Hawaii! Your vacations are sewn up for awhile! I do love this family pic. I have never seen the two of you happier. Parenthood really becomes you both! Sorry to hear of all your postpartum trouble. I dearly love you both and you are in my prayers. I hope to visit when you're better. Take care. Love- Melodye
