merry x-mas!!!!

before i begin with the stories
sadie, silas aaron and i would all like to thank everyone so so so much for everything this year!!!
you really made this a special x-mas for us all and we appreciate it and send our love and thanks!

so i was expecting an early morning.......
silas was up at about 5:45 but i kept him quiet till about 6:15
6:20 juice in hand the little kidlets began......
silas was the first to the tree, he grabbed every dinosaur under the tree and proudly started showing them to sadie and i
they started with their stockings and made there way through the tree in a matter of minutes!
by 8:00 the entire tree was unwrapped, painting projects were underway, napping in the sleeping bag and playing puzzles!
it was wonderful!
silas got a large, very large plastic dinosaur which sent him off into a frenzy!!
he actually ran into the train table trying desperately to get to the dino!
so overall it was a wonderful and successful x-mas.
so successful that sadie could not even take a 1 min break to go to the bathroom...so she unwrapped presents while on the potty! (yup a multi-tasker)
silas was more into playing than unwrapping presents....so either we can consider him efficient for having someone else do all the hard work or perhaps controlling :)
babe and meow meow stayed clear of the chaos...but they were able to indulge in various gifts
they both were so excited by x-mas, frosty and of course santa!!!
every year is magical with these little people....and it was truly magically to watch their imagination grow at each gift!
thank you again for everything!
with our love we hope you had a wonderful x-mas!

x-mas eve...and all through the house

meow meow chases dinosaurs, the children are in the potty and babe sleeps....
daddy's go crazy...and santa eats cookie!!!!

xmas week

sadie wrote a letter to santa.......
and we went to the post office and mailed it
two weeks later santa replied!!!
yes he aactually wrote a letter back to sadie telling her that mrs. claus was busy cooking cookies and rudolph was making ALL the reindeer exercise in preparations for the long night ahead
it was wonderful and a true little bit of x-mas fun!
silas is talking a mile a minute
he can count to 5 and with help he can count to 10
he loves to sing frosty and the ABC's
he and sadie are really playing together
hye lvoes to follow her around...but like any sibling he likes his quiet moments alone playing with his cars......just like sadie likes to build puzzles without help from destructo bubby!!!
i think we have gotten ever odd bug and germ available
there are days i wonder if we will ever crawl out from under this bad luck of sickness
but we are moving forward....i think (i say this with crossed fingers and a deep sigh)
only a few more days till santa comes down the chimney
sadie and silas are both totally excited
personally i am more excited about the winter solstice and the possibility of more light than anything else.....
still have a long list to try and get done before x-mas....(like get presents sent out...for those of you reading this expecting presents they may be late this year...but we have not forgotten)
so until later enjoy the pictures
our computer is back up and running so lucky you pictures galore!!!!
enjoy the days and stay warm
sending our love from cold and frosty cleveland
ps. sadie and silas both meet santa...and actually sat on his lap it was amazing!!! sadie told santa she wanted a tiana doll and a cheese coloring book and that bubby wanted a car!

2010-12-14

what are you going to be for christmas?

sadie is going to be a turtle!!!
i will update later with pictures
having issues once again with the computer and sick people
it never seems to end at this house
i suppose we have done a really good job at teaching the kids to share
anyway.....
silas and sadie are singing frosty the snowman daily if not hourly
silas repeats everything you say it is wonderful!!
until perhaps friday....enjoy the days.....snowy as they may be...and if you have been watching cleveland did get a little (ok a lot) of snow!!!
but for sadie and silas this was the best and most exciting thing to ever HAPPEN!!!!

date night 2010!!!!

ok i know no one really really cares about our date night but i feel that this story will fill you in a little more about how our life really works.....(or so it seems to work)
yes we went out on a date
but before we went.......(mind you all i am still dealing with the residual effects of strep)
we took bubby to the dr. to get his throat/ears checked out
poor little guy gave himself a mild/minor concussion in the waiting room by running into a bench but good thing we were at the dr. who said he will be find kids are resilient little people
no strep but he has a double ear infection
so...off we go to the movies
yes we took 2.5 hrs to do something for ourselves
i know it is horrible but after 1 yr of no date night it was nice to sit
it was nice to hear a movie
it was nice not to yell "share" and explain the importance of sharing
when we picked the kids up from their play date
bubby was chasing a little girl with a big smile on his face laughing
sadie was watching rudolph the red nose reindeer (the classic) and chatting with her little buddies
it was a goodnight
took bubby 2 minutes before he was fast asleep in the car......sadie (well we think they feed her a bunch of cookies) was up talking for another 45 minutes about how her and this little girl played and took their shoes off and.....
so here we are back to monday
we have snow coming from every direction and it is quiet
we are waiting for x-mas and looking forward to snuggling with some hot chocolate, books, and popcorn!
before you know it the trees will have little green buds and we will be swimming at the beach
i am going to leave this short since i know no one really wants to read......

the mothership was knocked down!

so when some cute snot nosed little kid from daycare (and they are not your child) hands you a toys and say "was tha?" don't do NOT take the toy...because if you do you may end up with STREP!!!!
yup you heard it here the mommy went down
and boy did she ever
so after almost a week of not eating, moving, drinking or anything i am finally back on my feet (granted not for very long) but i can speak now
and i can write
but even when i was down i was taking a few pictures here and there
today we have a winter wonderland of white!!!
i love days like this...it is so quiet (even in the hood)
we are getting ready for x-mas the best we can which at this point is just trying to stay healthy
sadie is really looking forward to x-mas and we remind her on a regular basis that if she does not behave santa's elves may be putting her on the naughty list
bubby repeats everything so beware
though sadie said double drat the other day....i really need to talk to the people at her school she comes home saying some interesting things which honestly i have never ever said "drat" and i don't think i have ever heard aaron say it....so once again i blame strep and interesting phrases on her school
aaron and i are still planning on going on date night
though date night might have a third party
he is cute with big round blue eyes.....yup...the bubby...not sure if he is getting the sick or not but fingers crossed he will be well.....

so that is all for now i will keep you posted
i was going to add more pictures but honestly i am too too tired you will get more maybe later tonight or tomorrow
wishing everyone healthy pink cells
wish us luck on date night 2010!!! i may actually talk to aaron in a complete sentence!!

2010-11-25

happy turkey day!!!!

i am keeping this short and sweet
happy turkey day more pictures to follow in the next few days
hope everyone had a wonderful relaxing day!!!

2010-11-15

there is a chill in the air......

the turkeys are running, reindeer are hiding and yes if you are really really quiet you may actually hear sleigh bells!
yup it is almost that time of year......and yes sadie is going through every toy catalog that comes in the mail telling us what she wants....let me just say it would be better to ask her if she does not want something...sort of like...would you like a cereal with your sugar concept
in the meantime we are playing outside as much as possible
which of course requires layers and boxes of tissues (since we have the never ending running nose at the moment)
currently our favorite activity is crunching leaves and chasing after the leaves as they fall from the tree
sadie has picked up some interesting phrases (we think from school...since aaron and i never ever swear or go to church)
1. to bubby "damn you are a hot mess"
2. "when i go to church i get my groove on"
silas is talking a mile a minute most of what he says is sleep, sadie, noo noo, eat, daddy, babe, meow meow and whats that.....but he is very clear about what he wants when he wants it....and he has gotten rather good at the fake crying
so for now that is all....we play, eat, sleep when it is possible

----- NEWSFLASH ------
it is possible and it will be happening in the year 2010
DATE NIGHT
yes you heard it here first aaron and i will be going on an x-mas shopping date night for the first time this year which is great b/c the year is almost over!!!

hope everyone is doing well
and i do say please feel free to leave us comments....sadie and silas both would love to know who is reading and what they are thinking

2010-11-02

the days of crazies and sugar!

yup the days up to halloween all the talk was CANDY!!!
i want candy corn, i want a lollipop, i want a cookie
there are a lot of "i wants" and "mine" going on in the cleveland house.....so how are we dealing with this
headphones and earplugs!
you think these were invented to prevent noise from disturbing others...oh no...it is to prevent noise from disturbing you.
there was some trick or treating done at the house...the kidlets walked down our street but not everyone was feeling real well so it was short and brief but in that time
silas totally had it all figured out
i have to wonder if "trick or treating" is an instinct children are born with much like eating, sleeping and pooping
he ran from house to house grabbing candy out of bowls and putting them either into his mouth or his pumpkin basket
if anyone touched or even looked at his pumpkin basket he screamed "MINE" and grabbed it and held it very very close
sadie was under the weather but did give it a good try and actually got A LOT of candy!!
both kids were fast asleep by 7:30 holding onto their glow sticks!
it was a good night, quiet, but sometimes quiet nights are the best
we are plugging away at stuff as we can it seems like the laundry level keeps rising and the list of tasks continues to get longer
i am trying to come up with the holiday wish list for the kids so continue to check the x-mas wish list page
silas is talking a mile a minute and you can actually understand what he is talking about now!!!
he has words!
most of them are little mimics of sadie but he did say "tic or tet" (trick or treat)
we are trying to get outside as much as possible before the weather turns REAL cold and nasty....but flus, colds and over all crabbiness have house bound us more than usual the last week
i have also signed up to help a bunch of people with websites.....so even though i am done with school (oh and so sadly having to pay back loans) i think i am busier than before
that is all for now.....still fighting a cold
enjoy the cutie pictures and movies!

crazy mother stories!!!!

yes it happens...there are moments in which oyu realize the entire grocery store is singing ABC with you and requesting songs
there are also times you realize you are dancing with a crowd of people you have never meet
there are also times in which you realize your son and husband are staring at you with the same expression of wonderment b/c you are talking to yourself about all the pretty colors
but these are proud moments for me as a mother
these are moments that yes i should practice humility but i don't i embrace it
and i think my children have taken my lead
we recently went to the halloween hayride at the lake farmpark and standing in line silas and sadie both starting dancing
silas walked in to a crowd of adults and starting dancing his little jig...and yes the adults started to dance with him
here is the video ::

more fall cutie pictures

2010-10-25

halloween and what will you be this year?

when asked sadie says a kitty kitty
sadie also says silas will be a diaper, daddy a chair and me a light bulb......still have no idea how or if we will be able to pull this off if we do i promise i will get pictures
certain words or phrases the children are currently terrified of (once again i can find no reason why these words would be scary but considering it is almost halloween you may want to try them on your children to see what sort of reaction occurs)
sadie "inside swimming"
silas "SUV"
never tell silas one of his cars is an SUV always say van or truck
the inside swimming no idea but it will result in 30 minutes worth of tears
there are so many other fun stories about these two little miracle wonders it is hard to keep track of everything
the last few days the weather has been wonderful high to mid 70's so (even though mommy had the flu) we are trying to get out and about as much as possible
random trips to the playground, the beach, the park for a run....ok mommy runs as silas goes one way down the path and sadie the other
though i feel as though i have done a good job of exhausting the duo when both are asking me to hold them
silas loves scrunching and crunching leaves
sadie loves to collect leaves and pretend they are magic wands or batons for conducting music
we talk a lot about music
i feel good when she requests mozart or vivaldi in the car.....so if you are thinking x-mas presents classical music would be nice
we are hoping to sign her up for judo classes this winter after her music/art/dance class....
it is funny there are so many wonderful things to do that it is hard to not sign her up for EVERYTHING
silas will be signed up for something but it is hard to find something for an almost 2 yr old that has to do with cars or dinosaurs (i welcome any suggestions)
we are moving forward and painting the bathroom and getting ready for the big kitchen tear out!
yes you heard it here first after jan 1 we will begin the large messy but final big project on the house the kitchen
we are starting to purchase and prepare items slowly
this friday aaron will begin to collect cabinets sand them and paint them......everyone should know us well enough by now to understand that no we never do things the easy way...that would be way to boring!!!!
(oh this could be a good activity for silas sanding cabinets!!!)
i will keep you posted with pictures as they come in but for now i sign off mostly b/c the cold meds are still doing a number on me and i can not process toooo many thoughts at one time
enjoy the crunching scrunching days of leaves
