week 34 and the bump keeps growing

x-mas is over but someone is still playing.......
the other day sadie made aaron a sunny side up egg and brought it to him at the table
she is becoming a very good "imagine" cook
her favorite is still broccoli which is wonderful
aside from that we are adjusting to a little quiet now and getting ready for phase two
phase two of course is omen #2
and really we don't need to do much to prep
except perhaps sleep...... and sleep a lot
i am starting to slow down waddling from point a to point b as best i can but doing it a little slower
sadie has lost most of her lap space but still tries to find room
which means she pushes on #2 till he moves to one side
than #2 starts pushing back
i feel like i am in constant inner turmoil
the weekend was great
saturday cleveland got a typical winter december day of 65! which of course meant we took our new LL Bean Canteen out for a walk (thanks dad)
sadie had fun picking up all the rocks and leaves so we would walk about three feet stop and she would say "whats that?" than hand us a bunch of stuff move a few more feet "whats that?" so a 1/4 mile walk took about 2 hours
no problem it was wonderful out and fun to watch her splash in the puddles when she did move a little faster
afterwards we went to CandyLand at the metro parks
thanks michele for the suggestion it was wonderful and sadie was awed at just about everything
we also went to the children's museum to play in the sand room
which is really an understatement
the sand room is about 900 square feet, 4 feet deep of cat poo free sand!
sadie had a blast
you get a little hard hat and a shovel and just dig and play
not sure though who had more fun sadie or aaron.....
sorry no pictures from that but there will be many more occasions
lets see...sadie's latest and greatest statements:
"let's see....."
"sadie where are you?"
"mimi where are you?"
"row row row your boat"
"no, no, no, no....(sung to the elmo theme song)"
"elmo's world la la la la elmo's world"
"tickle"
sadie does know the alphabet, can identify most of the letters and is learning how to spell elmo and sadie
she can count easily to ten and likes to wake up counting like this morning at 4 am "1, 2, 3, 4 (insert the count's laugh)"
she knows all the primary and secondary colors we are working on the tertiary colors figure we will know those than start looking for a job as a CEO
so if you get bored i have uploaded yet another 200 some pictures.....so enjoy
keeps my days entertaining
enjoy the days
chat more come new years!

proud mommy moment

there was one point in my life not to long ago......
about three years ago i would be going to bed at 5:00 am
my weekends would consist of finding the best art opening or cheese cube opening in cleveland, going to see some good ole rock and roll, and painting.....
now as a proud mom i was witness to sadie saying words that were like magic to my ears
never ever thought i would become one of those parents that spend much of a year talking poop...but it happens....
just like aaron and i swore we would never allow our house to become one big play room
(i think having sadie though was an excuse to make the house one big playroom....more often than not aaron and i are playing with the toys, sadie is picking up after us.....)
so you must be wondering "what did sadie say?"
she looked me straight in the face and said "poop" lifted her shirt up, walked to the stairs, climbed up the stairs, walked into her room and waited for me to lift her up onto the changing table to change her diaper....
out little girl is growing up
she said "POOP!!!!"
what does this mean.....its time to talk poop and its time to talk potty.....
this also means we might have to only deal with one in diapers while the other is growing out of diapers.....
but i will not count my poops till they hatch (that is a very disturbing thought) and we will not push anything but i am so proud of her
lets see.....
good thing we got the the big ole SUV sooner than later
we have hit -2 degrees here and there....things are falling on our house from 60 mph winds and really its just been gross out but it is winter in cleveland so no surprise there
yet tomorrow it is suppose to be 50 so just when you think your sinuses have adjusted...
#2 is doing great he does a lot of flipping and flopping in there
got to see him and he has some big cheeks just like his sister did....
we are all very very ready to say hello and welcome him into the family...especially me since i think it will be my first day off in almost 2 years
that is sad isn't it?
i want sounds of sympathy
this is all fine and dandy but in a few days we celebrate x-mas
sadie's 2 x-mas and she is aware of all
aaron and bumpa will stay up late putting together her retro red kitchen set
not going to tell you what else she got...you will just have to wait for the update later this week
#2 even got some presents......babylegs
keep those chubbies warm this winter
well that is all for now check back later this week for all the holiday cheer
and we do apologize
no cards from this year....we are slow at getting things together ......but we do send our love and thoughts
ps. we have not been to candyland yet but we do hope to we did go to stan hywet to see the lights
and sadie loved it she just ran and ran saying WOW! it was funny.....
enjoy the pictures

week 32 and x-mas right around the corner

8 weeks or two months to go before omen #2 comes out and says hello
how are you?
and considering the linguistics skills sadie is expressing it would not be a surprise if he does come out saying hello and a manuscript for a short novella
yes sadie is amazing us daily with her ability to speak in three languages including latin
she is currently learning how to spell her name
she can identify most letters in the alphabet when written and is learning to identify the numbers when written
so we are enrolling her into the graduate program at harvard next semester to learn about advance economics....
which by the way omen #2's official name is "buddy bud first bank of koonce" figure it would be a good time to get our feet wet with economic bail out right?
anyways all the silliness aside (b/c we are really a serious crabby bunch here in cleveland)
what has been happening......
the odd thing is we are ALL exhausted but when i look back at our days i come up with little
sadie is preparing for #2
she is learning how to make soup....her favorite is turtle soup she makes with her mimi
it involves running bunnies over with her toy car than stirring them in a pot.....
she is also learning how to put her clothes away, and has figured out how to tickle herself and those around her so watch out she has magical fast tickle fingers
she is also going take her mimi and bumpa to go see ELMO LIVE in downtown cleveland in feb
so she is learning how to drive.....yes her brand new car!
that is our big excitement we bought a new used car
new being a 2008, used being there are already some miles on it.....but it is FUN
it is a big car sorry SUV
(but aaron i both feel like we are driving a tank which means all you little mini cooper style cars out there be very very careful.....we gotsome power now)
yes we have joined the ranks of the gas guzzling people out there trying to figure out how to put two car seats (maybe three), groceries and stroller into any kind of vehicle.....thus we have purchased a ford escape
we are among though the big SUV drivers that is trying to help the economy and the american car industry so before you yell at us......think about all the good we did
now that is off the list now its a matter of sitting and waiting
#2 can get very very active at times to the point where i can not sit down
so i have learned a trick or two
when at work he gets to listen to one of my headphones while i listen to the other
currently he really enjoys 80's pop rock though is not a big fan of belinda carlisle, he LOVES duran duran and pat benatar
not sure if this is going to become a part of his profile when he does emerge but it is interesting either way......
that is all for today and perhaps this week

winter solstice just around the corner

its almost time to for winter solstice the shortest day of the year
which only means that the days will be getting longer
YIPPPEEEE!!!
cleveland has been experiencing typical cleveland weather
grey with another shade of grey and maybe if your lucky you may get another layer of grey
thus explains mike the mailman's attempt at x-mas decorations see picture below
anyways what has been happening
lots of little nothings
we did get a tree and no it is not made out of tinker toys though that would be lots of fun
i only did 10 loads of laundry
oh yeah and i am DONE with school for the semester
the big question now is can i possible make it through next semester....
classes start jan 20, i am due feb 14 so that means what? let those who have math skills help me with this one
the tree decorating was fun sadie grabbed everything stated it was a ball and promptly threw it to the ground....
good thing we did not put our special antique glass ornaments this year
we did not make it to see the elmo constellation
bad mommy had to take a nap
which i have to say for not having a day off really since sadie's birth i don't feel all that guilty taking an early morning nap
so now what are we doing getting ready for x-mas and omen #2 arrivals
what do we need to do for #2
nothing really except get a new used car one that has at least 4 doors
oh and find room among ALL of sadie's toys and clothes for #2's clothes and toys
well nothing much and nothing exciting at this point in time
enjoy the video of sadie walking in daddies shoes....lets hope she doe snot do this literally (especially during the punk rock duct tape phase though i have to say i would be a proud mom watching my little girl get pulled off the stage by police)

week 30....month 18

so what does one do after a wonderful feast of eating (thanks to aaron and his magic ways with a turkey)?
well you exhaust the toddler right?
how does one exhaust a toddler who normally puts me to bed by 7:30 or 8:00?
you keep the fun and games coming..........
the past weekend was sadie appreciation activities:
playing in a big leaf pile
eating a big plate of hummus and fries from tommy's
sleeping in till 7:40! (okay this is more mommy, daddy appreciation)
having her friend amelie come over
dancing with grover and bun bun

visiting the children's museum and playing in the splish splash room
taking walks to the beach and swinging on the swing set
x-mas shopping for herself
learning to count to ten
singing the alphabet to her doll lola
falling asleep in the car

so now what? is it possible to top last weekends fun filled hours of playing?

well yes it is possible.......
we will be heading to the natural history museum to view a planetarium exhibition that is for kids under the age of 2
my curiosity is.....how will they keep the attention of a room full of kids under 2?

elmo constellation?
after staring at the starry skies we are getting our tree
than the fun starts...
how to make a tree child proof? tinker toys
lets say there may be sewing...........
#2 is doing well he is getting bigger every day the good thing and bad thing is he stretches all day long and is quiet at night so as i sit in meetings i watch my belly go up and down and move from one side to the other its actually rather bizarre but hey sometimes it is better than the meeting
enjoy the pictures and the days

PS: this morning sadie pulled out her binky or her pacifier lifted my shirt up and stuck it in my belly button and said "baby bink"
i think she is ready for her brother

thanksgiving.......

need i say more....................................

2008-11-25

turkey day.......

turkey day is just around the corner
and i know you are all wondering
will we dress sadie up as a big turkey?
who said having children was not entirely for your own personal amusement?
you will just have to wait and see right?
so what are we doing for turkey day
well bec and sadie will sleep in till 6:30!!!!
aaron will be getting up with his 21 lb turkey probably around 6:30 .......so far this day is no different than any other day except for the 21 lb turkey and aaron is doing ALL the cooking
which is great b/c i have completely lost the ability to bend at the waist
the amazing thing is this:
everyone told me every pregnancy was different but did i really believe any of you....?
what can i saw i am a librarian by heart which means i do not believe everything i hear i need to experience it
so far though you are all RIGHT!
lets see
sadie:
no ankles : growing out of maternity clothes : people asked if i was having twins : i could not get out of aaron's car with out help : sadie kicked every vital organ keeping ALL of us up : headaches : backaches ....you get the picture everything ached
omen #2
hardly realize i am pregnant : still have ankles : i can actually sort of still fit in my non maternity sweaters : i am getting in and out of aaron's car with ease : no aches : getting kicked in the bladder and the ribs : sleepy
so is this any indication of how omen #2 will be
will he be quiet and mellow?
the great mystery is only 2 1/2 months left....
the great adventure of sadie continues though
she can sing the alphabet all by herself, count on her fingers to 5 and laugh like the count on sesame street, she loves to sing row row row your boat, fed elmo her bunny, and lola her doll, she loves to pretend cook, and she continues to tell us what to do most of the time
it is hard to see in the pictures but she does have one or two curls that pop out every once in awhile and a nice wave going...so she did get the curly hair
and like her mom and dad she is not a big fan of cold wind though she does like crunching leaves and snow......
still have not had enough snow though for snowballs or angels
well that is it for today....stay tuned for after turkey day delights
ps: we introduced the potty so far it has been great fun but not functional

2008-11-17

week 28 and month 17

the nice thing about this blog is the ability to look back and marvel oh if you want go through a series of ohs and ahs
week 28 with sadie
yes this was the time in which i lost my ankle bones, found out one could grow out of maternity clothes and we just started painting various parts of house but generally speaking i think we were living in one room and i am not even sure which room that was
oh the days of piling everything into a small corner of the house!
so how will we introduce omen #2 to power tools and home improvement?
not sure maybe a kitchen ceiling?
maybe a new bathroom?
naw.....figure he has gone through three jobs, two graduate programs and a little sister kissing and singing to him non-stop he might just want a break to relax....(i know i do)
which gets us to what have we been doing.....
lots of this and that
sadie has a boyfriend and he is a cutie not sure why she named him "mema" since his name is william but she loves playing with him
"mema" is 7 months old and a complete charmer so its no surprise she feel in love with him
she has also taken to giving away great big hugs and kisses
the other night we were all pile don the bed and sadie kissed her daddy than me than daddy than me than daddy than me you get the picture than she actually grabbed the back of aaron's head and mine and made us kiss!
the newest and oddest in the realm of child development is how or where does she get this behaviour from?
okay i am,not talking about the kissing i am actually addressing the diva modeling sadie does every morning in the mirror.....
i put her in a nice colorful dress for music class the other day she of course was standing in front of the mirror posing as she usually does before we drive to mimi bumpas house and when i approached her with her black sweat shirt she lost her mind...tears started....we had a chase around the downstairs.....finally when i got it on she ran to the mirror took a look at herself and burst out in fresh tears pulling at the sweatshirt.....
how do you tell a 17 month old that black matches everything.....
anyways the top this story off with a cherry of yummy goodness
our friends elliott and andrea got sadie an adorable vintage coat with white pom poms
while when sadie saw this she could not get enough....
the posing in the mirror started, the twirling the kissing of herself it was a riot to watch
as noted i got a few pictures and she was delighted to be documented....
so the question is......does mimi pose like this in front of mirror before she leaves the house?
do i? and am i that tired i don't even realize it?
or maybe aaron or bumpa twirls around before leaving the house?
she is a mimicking bird right now so who knows what she will pick up
though she can sing the alphabet and she knows numbers 1-9
omen #2 is doing well getting bigger, fatter and happier every day
he has found my diaphragm which is been great....i got that breathless speaking voice now and not the Marilyn Monroe sort of voice but the overweight i have jogged ten steps sort of rasp....
well that is all for today....
getting ready for turkey day yum yum!!!
aaron is doing all the cooking this year so i am very excited maybe i will get to sleep in till 6:00 am!

2008-11-10

oh ikea!

okay lets see sadie is 16 1/2 month old but really she seems like she is 20 years old
she is directing us and telling us what to do when to do and how to do it
which made it extra fun when she discovered all the packages from ikea
so she tried to help daddy out as best she could and when she was not helping out she was climbing on everything- actually that was her way of helping out...testing how sturdy the bookshelves are.....
overall a good weekend
we got a sleeper sofa.....so yes all of you who have stayed with us now have a comfy place to stay when #2 shows up
see we are thinkin' of others........even though we (well me) is trying not to stress out with a laundry list of things to do...granted most of my list is laundry but when you have two kids oops sorry one kid and a husband that gets very dirty every weekend working on the house ten loads of laundry seems like an easy week
speaking of number 2 he is busy very very busy doing push ups and stretches.....actually i think he is practicing yoga in there
he is not a big kicker as much as he is a pusher he likes to stretch which of course means i am stretched to the belly limits here or at least it feels like i could get no bigger
i have lost the ability to bend at the waist
i can not longer see my feet though i do know i have ankles which makes me super happy
sadie has even noticed that her lap space is shrinking
she pushes on my belly like a cat getting it comfy before she sits down
she has also gotten a little possessive of the belly and if anyone even goes to feel #2 kick she pushes their hand out of the way says "baby" kisses my belly and hugs me
#2 is not going to get a word in edge wise once he emerges i think he has a big sis that will be holding is hand every step of the way
sadie is now speaking in full sentences
granted it is still a lot of "whats that" and "want that" which also means she is starting to understand what "NO" really means
her new favorite activity is feeding her elmo and grover doll
well that is all for today will probably send some more messages later this week
but all is good and cold and snowy in cleveland

vote or buy a new house?

oh yes why not get a new house right?
i mean at this point time is completely made up concept that controls robot people into moving from point a to point b
no one really needs to sleep that is just made up like valentines day
just a gimmick that corporations want you to believe in so you buy A LOT of consumer goods to boast the economy
well it is election day so get out and vote!!!!
i will step off my soap box for the moment and tell you the story of our weekend
of course we changed the clocks another thing i have not gotten.....but believe it is another way for the government to control us
which meant sadie got up at her usual weekend hour making it about 5:30 real time
so we got an early start on our sunday
we decided to head out to perry township which is just outside of painesville.....(yup a one way ticket to painesville)
i have been looking at vacation homes granted my idea of a vacation home is a trailer in the middle of 40 acres in PA but why not a 3,000 square foot estate over looking the nuclear power plant
the house is SOOOOO cool
i say this in the day dreaming we feel in love with all the broken windows sort of way
but let me explain before i hear gasps of panic arise out of new england
the house was built in 1931 by an artist/sculptor he built the house so the facade is all mosaic stone with faces inlaid above the windows
the roof is spanish tile, the gutters are cooper and surrounded by hand molded ceramic
the entry way (from what we could see peeking in) is inlaid marble and granite with a spiral staircase in red granite
the entire house is painted in murals and there are sculptures thrown about everywhere
the person that lived there before sculpted religious icons so his molds are scattered throughout 2.4 acres
you peek behind a pine tree and you a saint praying at the sky
there are little out buildings everywhere with welding masks, plaster molds, a ceramic wheel it is non stop fun
sadie ran around the fields picking up pine cones...she felt right at home
so yes we have fallen in love with this house and yes it has been abounded for what i can tell 25 years if not more but the potential....
mimi and bumpa could move in and have an entire floor to themselves! (there are 4 stories and a door/window in the chimney)
so whats the deal?
even though the house is wonderful there is a lot of work...so what does a librarian do she tries to find a way to get if for free.....
after our adventures in home day dreaming we took sadie to chuck e cheese....(okay so this was a suburban dream day) and she LOVED IT!
she got to ride the rides and eat pizza and pet the big mouse
she pointed at everything "what's that?" "what's that?"
she was a little upset that we left but we was happy to see we went for a walk so she could nap
omen #2 is happy doing his thing making it harder and harder for me to bend down
yes this is belly is real and no i am not stashing any pillows
hard to believe i still have three more months and i will actually get bigger
but i still have ankles though i can not see them.....
this weekend we are headed to PA to visit our favorite place IKEA
time to get organized
please do not forget to vote today or even vote for the best baby names:
to more to add that are not on the list:
  • north
  • west
why not offer direction at an early age right?
think that is all for now getting ready for the holidays and enjoying the last days of warm weather before the snow falls

2008-11-01

happy hallllooowwweeennnn!

sadie's first trick or treat!
(no worries all candy went to omen #2)
she had fun and got lots of candy i think the best part was having all her adults around reading her stories and playing games
sadie LOVES glow sticks
i think for x-mas she would be happy with baskets and baskets of glow sticks
i got some extras to take care of those "elmo" moments
will write more later just wanted to share this video of sadie being a princess
thanks aunt mel and family for the card sadie loves it and preforms wonderfully in front of crowds
she has the blowing of the kiss down just right

2008-10-28

one class down.....

okay it is all about me me me right now!!!
i just finished my final exam for one of my classes
and I AM SO SO HAPPY
this means i only have one class to deal with right now which makes us all happy
still my weekends will consist of homework but not nearly as much which means maybe more walks
this past weekend was good and bad
good because we got sadie two new goldfish and two snails
bad because it was rainy and cold
guess what?
yes it snowed well more like a sleet thing but still
YUCK!
but this weekend we are suppose to get back up into 60 so that makes me happy but still snow?
the trip to the pet store went well it was when we thought oh lets just pop over to toys-r-us...that realized bad idea
and why is this a bad idea?
well if you do not follow your elmo new toy updates this is why.....
elmo live

elmo was everywhere
and sadie was so so happy
she screamed with delight
"ELMO" but than when we tried to walk past elmo the tears started
big huge wet lonely tears started flowing
and the would not stop
no book with elmo would distract no markers or crayons nothing
but we were good and we stood by our initial decision
elmo live is for x-mas no sooner than that
so we ended up going home with a very sad sadie but an elmo free shopping cart.....
we did get paint and some more crayons...we all love art supplies....even i have a hard time saying no to art supplies
so whats up?
well omen #2 is still swimming around and he has found my bladder with much happiness
we are now starting to think okay small house two kids, two kid like adults? how are we going to pull this off.....
which it really is rather easy but any excuse to go to IKEA......
so we are planning a trip to IKEA to get ourselves even more organized
which of course means more bookshelves
we went to the local library book sale and bought three HUGE bags full of board books
these kids have a little library...i told the librarian i will teach them how to catalog and classify their books in a few years why not?
going to IKEA of course means doing a little work on the house
painting a few things, cleaning, throwing things out you know the usual which for us is always a very large task that involves dumpsters and mechanics
nothing else happin' just quiet trying to stay warm and finishing one class at a time
hope all is going well
please do not forget to vote...believe it or not the clock is ticking and i only have three more months
UGH!!!
