x-mas and beyond.................

well someone slept in on x-mas day and got up at 7:00 am
she opened a bunch of presents got a little overwhelmed and had to take a few time out naps
but she knew ALL the colorfully wrapped presents under the tree were for her and she did squeal with excitement
thank you everyone for making this such a special x-mas for sadie

she loved all the things that require mommy and daddy to buy batteries and sing silly songs in our heads
aaron and i play name that toy song alot
aaron and i did get her a little aquarium which she loves
frankie seems uninterested which is good so we don't have to have that natural selection talk with sadie yet......
sadie is starting to crawl sort of.....it is usually going backwards but she can crawl backwards really fast
she also has the strength of a super ninja and enjoys pulling her daddy's beard A LOT
she is also experiencing people anxiety so breaks down in tears if you even look at her the wrong way......
grocery shopping is going to be a hoot!
lets see aside from that it seems everyday she changes a little more she has started to pull herself up to a standing position still real wobbly but her super strong ninja legs can hold her up for a long time!
she says maaa maaaa lots and daaaa daaaa.....she has totally discovered frankie much to frankies demise but i think frankie will be the motivation to crawl
we are signing to her and she seems to understand what we are saying
she loves drinkin' water and has been experimenting with more foods
her favorite like her mom and dad is CHEESE!
so we are raising her well she loves extra sharp cheddar though we give her only a very very small amount...clogs up the ole pipes and that is one thing we do not want a clogged baby
she thinks tofu has an odd texture but when mixed with other veggies really enjoys it....
so what are we planning now?
the holidays are almost over with the new year! soon school will start back up and some day in february aaron and i might see each other
the new schedule has been hard and sadie loves spending time with her daddy she is still adjusting to everything
her mimi is in hawaii and she does miss playing with mimi but she still has bumpa to nap on everyday so that is good.......

week 25!

someone is taking BIG cutie pills every morning
we think she knows that this time of year is the time for presents so....if she looks extra cute and says things like
"mom maaaaa" or "da" than she might get something that lights up and sings to her
sadie wishes for a baby grand piano but......
we are thinkin' about getting her a walker but keep it a secret.......we don't want her to know about it until x-mas day!
all is going well in collinwood
we have the tree up
bec is done with school!!!!! and she got an A in both classes which means she was able to maintain a 4.0 even with a cutie pie in the house distracting her
aaron is about to start a new shift at work (its temporary)
3 pm to 11:30 pm
bec is sad that she will not see aaron

for two months but aaron does get more daddy time
sadie does love her daddy
sadie has started to reach out or up for people when she wants a hug or to be picked up
her personality is really starting to emerge and she does have a sense of humor
sadie is teething so everything goes in her mouth....and everything has drool on it
she wakes up laughing and singing than spends about ten minutes telling you all about her dreams
what do you suppose she dreams about?
she has discovered frankie
frankie on the other hand has not discovered sadie or at least pretends sadie does not exist until a loud squeal of delight scares her away
sadie is trying to crawl her little legs and arms are going but she has not figured out how to lift her belly up off the ground
she also does secret undercover agent baby stuff......she will only roll over if no one is watching, she stops crying as soon as the camera or phone is within vision
she does say "ma maaaaa" alot and she loves to eat peas
the following movie is her first taste of peas

we like to call her green beard!

we do wish everyone a relaxing time as we head into the holiday of food, wrapping paper, and festivities

week 23 & 24 happy 1/2 year!!!!!

this is what happens when your child puts everything in her mouth!
yup sadie decided it was time to eat the camera......
this past weekend we continued our tradition of driving to doylestown which is an hour south of us to hunt, kill a tree and strap it to the top of the car!
every year we go specifically to buy hand blown glass ornaments. last year we bought sadie an emperor penguin and his baby this year we got her a panda bear with bamboo!
it was fun we ALL bundled up because of course this is ohio which means.......super chilly! she got a little red nose and red cheeks....
but had fun watching the reindeer and all the x-mas lights......
we got home and trimmed the tree making sure her panda was clearly visable and out of reach
the new amazing things sadie can now do:

eat corn - which is by far her favorite - sadie HATES yams
put everything in her mouth - she tried to eat frankie but was discouraged
she can pull herself up and hold herself up in a standing position
she can sit up
she rolls over lots - but does not like anyone to watch her do it very secretive this little one
she sings songs at 6:00 am on a saturday when her parents are trying to sleep
she loves rattles and brown paper bags!

i apologize ahead of time there will be a lapse in sadie photographs...not sure why but our camera is broken so as not to miss any great moments and achievements we are in the process of looking for a new one.
bec has only one more hour of class left and she is off for x-mas break! one month of nothing but....cleaning the house, doing twenty loads of laundry a week, going to work, feeding the family and perhaps some home repairs thrown in there.....its all worth it!

week 21 & 22 - visit with country grandparents!

sadie had an exciting weekend!
first her country grandma and grandpa drove 11 hours to see her!
so she talked to them and told them stories and she jumped up and down giving us all a work out
we went out to sages farm and picked up apples which sadie got the chance to taste...she likes mackintosh
than we went to trader joes and sadie laughed and tried to pull everything off the shelf
now that she is getting more coordination we have to be careful of those little hands
she has stripped a few trees of their leaves
aside from that it was a great visit she got lots of presents from her grandma, grandpa, aunt holly, cousin emily and aunt heidi
sadie knows when a box arrives it is usually for her so she gets excited

sadie loves carrots
most of the carrot ended up on her chin but she did get a few big bites in
the last few weeks everyone has been a little under the weather fightin' some cold or another
but sadie has been laughing and playing while we all moan in bed with fevers
the young are so lucky!
in a few weeks sadie will be six months!
it is so hard to believe how fast time goes
we are hoping to stage of love in 1/2 b-day party with 1/2 a cake, 1/2 a present, 1/2 clothes, everything cut right in half!
nothing new aside from that
sadie has shown a great interest in other babies so we are looking at a vegan daycare by our house so that sadie can play with other babies for a few days out of the week
we are taking a tour next monday and will let you all know how it goes

week 19 & 20 FIVE months!

our sadie baby is growing up so fast!
she turned five months old this past saturday and what new things she has discovered!
she has found her feet which is fascinating
she has also learned how to splash in her bath tub using those same feet she discovered!
now mom and dad get drenched when she takes a bath but its too much fun!
she kicks and squeals than the water goes EVERYWHERE!
halloween was fun
sadie dressed up as a a kitty cat which left frankie unamused
she slept through most of it but than was hugged and loved by all her favorite people!
sadie has also shown A LOT of interest in eating
so we set up her high chair and gave her a spoon
enjoy this movie of her and her spoon!

after some time the squeals became more intense as she watched aaron and i had things on our spoons and she didn't so.....
we gave her a little organic rice cereal to try!
she made some fun faces than tried to gulp it done all at once (the faces are a tribute to johnny long)
needless to say it was a good thing that the splashing bath took place after the first food attempts!
aside from that all is going well
everyday sadie changes and her personality becomes more apparent
she is lots and lots of fun which makes it hard for aaron and i to leave her every morning but she is being loved and hugged all day by her bumpa and mimi!
she starts her lullaby class tonight were yes her tone deaf mom and her will sing songs and dance!
should be fun so long as no one tells tone deaf mom to hush
until later enjoy the fall flavors
ps. naked earth baby sadie does not like the cold or all the clothes! but she does look cute.......

week 17 & 18 - we got ourselves a big one!

sadie is now 16 lbs and 26 inches long!
still in the 95%!
which means she is doing very well
her new big thing is TOYS!!
she loves toys
loves eating them, loves grabbing them, but really she just loves to eat them
so on one of the days that her mom got over caffeinated and could not stop moving she created ultimate extreme crib!
toys in every corner and sadie loves it
you can hear the rattles rattling the squeaks squeaking
her other favorite is her new jumperoo!
she bounces and squeals with delight
the following movie is her playing during one of her calm moments

aside from that all is quiet in the house
we are getting ready for halloween and though i think the the pumpkin would be adorable we got her a little black meow outfit that has a little tail!
bec is back at work full time which has been hard
though i am beginning to learn how to sleep with my eyes open and type at the same time
mom zombie is what they call us right?
school is going well one class is almost over well the other is in full swing
what this all translates too is figuring out how we can work half the hours at a physical job and work more hours with sadie on our laps!
thus the quest for self employment begins what we do as a family:

• brighten any dark corner of your house by being cute wall flowers!

• home improvement

• personalized cartoons or illustrations
• fashion model of onesies

week 15 & 16 - some one has discovered her voice

sadie has learned the art of squealing!
she squeals with delight and she squeals when she wants something
right now her favorite toy is her stuffed rat
yes sadie has a stuffed toy rat that she loves to eat
actually she loves sticking everything into her mouth!
she has also started laughing out loud
the following movie is all about the giggling corn queen!

sadie has taken her first music and movement class
sadie was the youngest musician but loved singing and dancing with mimi!
nothing else is really going on
mom is back to work full time which is sad for all of us
we are getting ready for halloween which is our favorite holiday
still not sure what sadie will be for halloween
either a ladybug or a pumpkin
what do you all think?
we have eight pumpkins, a strobe light, some skeletons, tomb stones and we will be making some scarecrows!
this will be the best halloween ever!
remember we have some thing like 300 kids come through the neighborhood which is so much fun
no new house projects the next thing on the list is getting ready for winter
which means:
installing an interior door, building radiator covers (because some one will be crawling very very soon) and insulating the ceiling in the basement and putting in dry wall
should keep us busy and out of trouble!

week 13 & 14 - corn queen thrives!

the little ohio baby thrives
she loves taking long walks at the metro parks
every week our little family takes a nice walk in the woods
we wear sadie in her front pack so she can see the trees
she loves talking to the trees
it is possible we might have a little horticulturist!
she has started laughing out load but only when you do something really really silly!
she also has sucked on an apple, and green bean
her favorite is still corn!
only two more weeks until mom goes back to work full time
don't think either sadie or mom are happy about this but work means paycheck
paycheck means toys!!!!
sadie is really into things that light up and music!
her favorite right now is listening to mimi and aunt cyndie sing!
so we will have to get a recording of them singing cattle songs together.

on certain days mommy has to get her homework done so she reads out load to sadie about libraries and such
sadie finds this oh so boring so usually talks and squeals through the entire reading

week 13 - corn queen

week 12 or 3 months old!!!!

we made it!
for three months aaron and i had a baby, survived on no sleep, a leaky kitchen ceiling, muggy cleveland days, going back to work, and the true test relaxing.
sadie seems well adjusted and happy so we celebrated with a 3 month party!
we had party hats and sadie got some new toys
she got a bumbo so she can sit up like a big girl, a teething bunny, a duck that sings, alphabet flashcards, a pull toy that lights up, and mom & dad got a present also we got some books on baby sign language
sadie loves music and being sung too
doesn't matter if you just make up a song or sing the texas cattle call (actually she really likes the texas cattle call)
she has started to let you know if you are not paying enough attention to her and if you don't include her in conversations she does get very upset
sadie was able to suck on a carrot and LOVED it, she also sucked on a plum and an orange, was not a big fan of the orange but actually grabbed my hand with the plum and stuck it in her mouth
on sunday sept 9 at 7:30 in the morning sadie rolled over completely!
she was rather surprised but very happy.
i have also learned the foods that sadie does not like and she actually turned her head from me and refused to eat (i am breast feeding which is great except now i have eliminated a lot of foods i really enjoy)

heres the no no list:
peppers
anything spicy
garlic
onion
tomatoes
so i guess aaron and i won't be going out for italian any time soon.
as far as the house we are still working on little things here and there to get ready for winter
this week aunt cyndie is visiting and plans to get curtains in the nursery are under way
paul and aaron are working on things in the attic that require 35 foot ladders and me i am busy reading papers about "isms".

week 10 & 11 sadie has learned to drool!

its hard to believe sadie is almost three months old!
she is growing so much. every morning we wake up and wonder
has she gained a pound, will she be driving us to work, when will she start working on the house?
sadie has meet and played with her grandpa b this week, she has been to the holden arboretum, she has gone shopping at home depot and was stopped by every sample lady at the grocery store
the big question answered:
are we sleeping?
sadie is sleeping about 6 to 7 hours a night
she does not like it when mom eats anything with peppers and if mom does eat anything with peppers no one gets any sleep
we are managing the work schedule okay and are ALL starting to get a routine down
so for all of you who wonder what a day in the life of an 11 week old is like:
mom wakes up at 5:00 and lets me sleep with dad until 6:00
at 6:00 mom feeds me and i tell her how i really rather be sleeping than getting my diaper changed
6:45 mom straps me into this thing (car seat) were another little girl lives (a mirror) so i talk to her until all of a sudden i am in the arms of my mimi being hugged and kissed
mom kisses me bunches than disappears
mimi plays with me and i tell her stories
than around 9:30 i get super hungry
so i eat than i nap
than i play in my swing or i kick things light up and sing sounds
i have lots of power!
than at 2:00 i get really sleepy and this is my big nap (though i don't want any one to know this)
so i curl up on mimi and i sing her a little song until i fall asleep
than mom comes back
i eat!
i love this routine
sleep, eat, play and back sleep, eat, play
than mom straps me into the thing again and i talk to the little girl than we are home!
mom dances with me and we play or read winnie the pooh i like that silly ole bear
6:00 i start to get a little sleepy
so i sit in my bouncy chair and watch mom make dinner
sometimes i nap sometimes i just tell her how fun my day was
OH daddy is home!
i get squeezed, kissed and hugged!
i love my family!
bed time:
i take a bath and smell like lavender which makes me really happy and sleepy than
i sit between mom and dad in bed and we all talk about our days until i fall asleep.
that is a typical day with the extraordinary little girl named sadie.
new developments:
she has turned over from her side all the way onto her belly, she loves sucking her thumb, she can stick her tongue out, loves to chew things, and beware she DROOLS!

week 9 & 10 what one does at 6 in the morning

on a typical day before sadie, aaron and i would be sawing logs at 6:00 am
now i use it as quiet time
time to read e-mail, do homework, yup school starts this week
can not believe our little sadie utopia of sleeping and eating whenever is changing to an actual schedule and adult responsibilities.
since i could just sit here for the next twenty years and write about ALL of sadie's wonderful achievements i thought i would add in few other fun facts
we are still working on the house
aaron and paul just built some pantry doors we used chalk board and magnetic paint so we can leave notes to each other ie: baby laundry in wash needs to go into dryer and of course the new vocabulary words we have created to describe sadie:

cutiepotomus
gigglocity

the update on sadie:
she is 13lbs 1 oz and 24 inches long. she just got her vaccinations and was a trooper! i think mom had a harder time than her. she cried a little than wanted to snuggle ALL day which was not a problem for either aaron or i
mom is working two full days so she spends her day with mimi playing and talking to herself.
she loves the mirror and has surprised herself several times by watching the little girl in the mirror stare back at her.
she is becoming a pro at sucking her thumb, her hand, her shirt, and of course our arms, shirts, anything and everything, she has started drooling LOTS! and making bubbles.
so what are we doing now grandpa b is in town this weekend and we are taking walks and enjoy the last days of summer.
sadie slept her first night for 7 hours on august 23, how quickly things change!
the odd thing is none of us can actually remember what we did before her.
