week 17 - the comparison

the question is who is who?
which one is becky and which one is aaron?

**hint: (this is for you cecil)
becky is the one on the left

So now that is out of the way lets begin with week 17:
this week mom and dad to be celebrated x-mas in grand style, sitting on the couch reading books and watching the christmas story.
becky got the best presents this year maternity clothes and power tools! yup mom to be got a sander!
we were asked several times about names so here is a non-exhausted list of names (remember though on jan 4, we learn the sex so one list will be eliminated this is sort of like a game show)

Boys:
otis : aubrey : noah : johnny : webster : dylan : milton : holden

Girls:
blythe : sloan : thea : luna : lena : eve : rublee : rainbow-dash

if we forgot any or anyone has any additions please let us know we are not set on anything and aaron thinks that after becky delivers the baby and she is passed out from exhaustion that he will get to name the baby whatever he wants
*****we as a family do not want to see this happen******
fun fact story of the week:
the one thing they forget to tell you about being pregnant is the dreams so far i believe i can talk to the cat, and i have had some interesting dreams so i am here to share:

coffee drinking lederhosen baby
the dream started out as any other in a film of fog opening to a city scene. we were a family with a new born baby. we made our living off of hijacking cars and stealing money, not bad at least its for profit, anyways our little son who is actually very little about 6 inches high really wanted to go with mom and dad on their next high jack so after feeding the baby coffee in a baby bottle and securing his lederhosen we the happy family ventured out into the city streets and high jacked a car.
end of story
the odd part is actually visualizing a 6 inch baby wearing lederhosen

until next week........

p.s. Please do not be alarmed. Remember, Becky has always had an active imagination and she's been under alot of stress lately. Do not call the police or child services.

week 16

here's a little info on how the baby is growing inside becky:

At 4 1/2 inches long (head to bottom) and 3 1/2 ounces, your baby is about the size of an avocado. In the next three weeks, she'll go through a tremendous growth spurt, though, doubling her weight and adding inches to her length. Her lower limbs are much more developed now. Her head is more erect than it has been, and her eyes have moved toward the front of her head. Your baby's ears are close to their final position, too. Some of her more advanced body systems are working, including her circulatory system and urinary tract. Her heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, circulating her total blood volume through her body many times. (By the end of your pregnancy, this will increase to about 190 quarts.) The patterning of her scalp has begun, though her hair isn't recognizable yet. Although closed, her eyes are moving (slowly), and she's even started growing toenails. (retrieved from baby center)

have not felt any kicking yet but that is soon to come.
mark your calendar for jan 4, 2007 aaron & becky will have an ultra sound and learn the sex of the baby!
how exciting things are happening so fast, this friday the nursery will be getting three new windows, than all we need to do is patch the walls, paint, sand the ceiling, and buy some baby related paraphernalia.
stay tuned: we still have baby names to list, funny dreams becky has had well being pregnant, nursery before and after pictures, and of course can't forget the sex of the little pod!!!

Dad get's to hear baby for the first time.

On Monday last week I went with Becky to Dr Bellin's office, it was just a routine pregnancy checkup but I wanted to meet the Dr. and ask questions and see what exactly they are doing to my wife.

Dr. Bellin has a kind face and she's really gentle with Becky. Becky asked some questions, peed and got her blood pressure taken and then She asked Dr. Bellin if we could hear the heartbeat.
The Dr. took some jelly and put it on her stomach, then took a microphone and pressed it into her belly.

She moved it around for a while, apparently trying to locate the sound. Meanwhile the speaker device which is just a little hand held thinga ma jig is sqwaking and feeding back like a cb radio. Not that I have any basis for these assumptions, but I thought baby was laying in mom's tummy in one spot. After all where is he going to go? After a couple of tries I'm starting to get nervous, you know, where is our baby's hearbeat already?

Then we hear it fly by! It's kind of a whoosh whoosh sound, but the little guy is hauling a** in there, so it kind of has a doppler effect to it, and the Dr. starts moving the microphone all around trying to keep up! He's literally bouncing off the walls, and Becky's laughing at me because I've got this huge totally involuntary grin, I'm completely in this moment and not even remotely self aware.

And now I'm chuckling to myself b/c it occurs to me it won't be long before I'll be running around after little Jet Li Jr. Now I'm totally excited for the ultrasound on Jan 4. that's right around the corner!
