goodbye bathroom hello molars!!!

this has been a fun week
we finished pulling ALL the nails out of the bathroom
and bought ALL the new things that will go into the bathroom
so we are ready
frank and dennis (our people) will be starting in our house on tuesday
can not wait!!!!!
silas is moving and shaking
he has 4 new molars
and yes they are all coming in at the exact same time which means PAIN
the little guy is doing well with it though
some days he does not eat anything but popsicles
other days he will eat three pieces of bread a hot dog and some broccoli
so it all depends
he has lots of little curls on the back of his head which are wonderful
i have started my last class as a graduate student
it will be over in two weeks
so far not to bad
i don't have much to say
because in 2 weeks I WILL have a lot to say

the bathroom saga

ok....
so i have grown to love not having walls or a ceiling which is why i can not wait to build a yurt!!!!
the bathroom is gutted
we have a few bits and pieces to pull down and out before the final redo but yup there is no ceiling!!!
i have finished my semester and start my last class on monday
it really is never ending but......i do see the end to this cycle of demolition/school
my last class ends june 11th and graduation is august 21st
the bathroom demo is pretty much done and we will have a new bathroom the second week of june
so....all that is left is...ok i am not even going to get started with what is left but it is mostly in the kitchen....
silas is running and sadie is chasing him
occasionally silas chases sadie and that is when the giggles get started
we have tilled our garden plot and will be mixing in top soil and compost this week (if the weather holds up)
we are also looking forward to our first ever vacation in years!!!
we are driving up to ithaca to visit friends and play
the nice thing is we can just open the door and tell the kids to fend for themselves
while we kick back and relax (right like this is ever going to happen)
nothing more is going on
aaron has a show coming up and we got tile to order
it really has been a long time a waiting for a bathroom and one i am very excited about
we will keep you posted

cutie movies during the demolition era

some weeks i have nothing to say
perhaps that is because i don't think you really want to know what we had for dinner
but there are other weeks in which you just can't keep me quiet
welcome to that week
so this weekend is going to be a little different
if you are new to cleveland neighborhoods let me tell you a little bit about where we live
we do live in cleveland...we bought a house on a dead end beach street...across the street from our street is one of the roughest areas of cleveland
as it goes with any neighborhood though the artists find the charm and move in
so slowly our neighborhood is being turned around
even though buildings are boarded up we now have galleries, cafes, boutiques as well as a community garden!
so this weekend we (that is a small group of us from the hood) will be starting the first collinwood community garden this is exciting on so many levels....
if the garden goes well perhaps we can start a community chicken house....and the list goes on
sadie has her elmo shovel and spade and will be helping us put in a 15x20 foot raise bed...which means we need compost!!!!
if you have compost, top soil dump anytime anywhere on the corner of 149th and lakeshore....
