cutie movies during the demolition era

some weeks i have nothing to say
perhaps that is because i don't think you really want to know what we had for dinner
but there are other weeks in which you just can't keep me quiet
welcome to that week
so this weekend is going to be a little different
if you are new to cleveland neighborhoods let me tell you a little bit about where we live
we do live in cleveland...we bought a house on a dead end beach street...across the street from our street is one of the roughest areas of cleveland
as it goes with any neighborhood though the artists find the charm and move in
so slowly our neighborhood is being turned around
even though buildings are boarded up we now have galleries, cafes, boutiques as well as a community garden!
so this weekend we (that is a small group of us from the hood) will be starting the first collinwood community garden this is exciting on so many levels....
if the garden goes well perhaps we can start a community chicken house....and the list goes on
sadie has her elmo shovel and spade and will be helping us put in a 15x20 foot raise bed...which means we need compost!!!!
if you have compost, top soil dump anytime anywhere on the corner of 149th and lakeshore....
in the mean time enjoy these movies

the bathroom

i thought you may enjoy the sites of our bathroom
i have to say major demolition with two small children leads to some interesting and creative ways of
1. brushing teeth
2. bathing
3. tinkling
here ya go

rain rain go away.....

so far we have been super busy
but when thinking about it i am not sure with what
i suppose it is planning and figuring out how to take over the world one cutie at a time
silas is walking and running
he walked all by himself to the beach from our house which for a little kid is like walking miles
he likes to hum or sing when he walks i think it is to help him keep balance
he has more teeth coming in
both front teeth are in and he is enjoying using them which means an entire new food group.....
though i have to say he is a rather picky eater
he loves bread, hummus, broccoli and bananas but do not go near him with a pear
sadie is on a big noodle kick but what kid isn't right?
she is doing great
she wants to draw ALL the time and no little itty bitty drawings (wonder who she got this trait from) but HUGE big drawings on big pieces of paper
so it has been fun
her drawing style is really wonderful she has identified the need for a nose, eyes and mouth on a face
drawing babe still stumps her but she does a daily portrait of mommy or daddy!
she is very independent and likes you to know it
so it is always best to let her try things first before trying to help
she can get her pants and shirts on ALL by herself and is very proud of herself
along with all this independence though comes a very strong will
so we have had a lot of discussions about listening....not sure if she is listening but we try
right now we are getting ready to destroy the destroyed bathroom!
yup you heard it here first
we are ripping out walls tomorrow!
i will take pictures as we go but the plan is.....and that is assuming the tree does not fall on the house :)
that we rip out the walls and ceiling tomorrow
next wed i will take the day off to help finish ripping out the shower walls and the wall behind the vanity
then we go on vacation!
wonderful isn't it
and when we come back
we will have a new vanity, and a sparkling clean tiled bathroom!!!!!
now many things could go wrong...i won't mention them because i do not want to place that negative energy around my hopeful thinking.....
so i ask you all to cross your fingers send us home depot gift cards and pray to the bathroom gods that the plumbing force be with us!!!!
so until later......enjoy the days of clean bathrooms and NEVER EVER take for granted a bathroom that has walls!
