the world of elmo and beyond

the trip to RI went well
sadie went swimming or actually jumping in the ocean and saw a hermit crab
she played in the sand and watched her cousin emily eat sand
the flight went smoothly no issues except sadie is getting a little big to be curling up into anyones lap for a nap so she spread out across both our laps for a short nap back
overall the trip was short but lots of fun
sadie learned or started to learn about sharing and we have discovered she is not really ready to share when it comes to elmo









might not happen for many many years.......
lets see.....we flew on a plane, played in the ocean, squealed miro and nelson (grandma & grandpa's dogs) and we ate a lot of corn....not bad for a labor day weekend
whats going on now:
well i am back in school and the nice thing is i only have to show up for two classes which means no LONG LONG drive though i did get a really good book on tape so i sort of bummed
aaron and paul are ripping the roof off our lean toooooo this weekend and i know they are excited!
than maybe than we can start addressing some of the interior issues like......well you know the long list no need to repeat it
the sun is setting earlier and the air has a crisp edge to it in the eve but we still take our walk to the lake every night to collect rocks and "lake" glass
this has been a good summer but we are looking forward to fall
big antique tractor show, bbq barnyard bash with square dancin and the works and a corn fest!
sadie is growing up so quickly it is hard to watch
she can say: bean, pea, corn, woof or arf, meow, bumpa (which she likes to scream) bubba (for aaron) and a few more which i can't remember

architect?

not much going on here.......
just the usual work, sleep, eat and lots and lots of laundry......
aunt heidi and robert came through town this week and got to play with sadie which was great fun
sadie told them ALL about elmo and sang them the elmo theme song and read them her elmo book
you noticing an obsessive quality..........
anyways aside from that mimi has been coming over to the house and working on the mural
sadie has taken to paints herself and enjoys painting the floor, the stairs, the mirrors just about everything
good thing our house is brightly colored and has various patterns of splattered paint throughout
this weekend we are heading to RI to visit cousin emily and country grandma & grandpa
so until than enjoy the weekend
eat some corn put your feet up and relax it is labor day weekend
ps. last night sadie woke up at 3:00 am and declared in a very loud voice that it was time to dance with that she starting clapping her hands and dancin'.....maybe not architect perhaps we have a dancer?

just a little gardening......

aaron and i have indulged in gardening just a little this year....like the new look for the house? i mean who really needs siding, windows or even a door for that matter......
we discovered this house when we first moved into the hood and fell in love with it.....lets say this people really live here how we are still trying to figure that out.....but at night if you drive by you can see lights shining through the ivy.....
aside from driving by crazy peoples houses we have been taking LOTS of walks......
sadie grabs my shoes and her shoes right after dinner and runs to the door were if she lucky she will actually open the door and head for the stairs
first thing we do on our walks is visit our neighbors ceramic bunnies than we head down to the lake for a good deal of rock collecting
at least once a week now sadie has a friend sam come over to play with the rocks
sam is just about to turn 2 and when asked about sadie he says "sadie fun"
there you go do i need to say anymore.......
the other place sadie and i go for walks is at the metroparks....they have nice paved paths which she likes to run on......collect leaves and scream every time she sees a dog
we are enjoying summer......though it is hard to believe fall is around the corner you can smell it....

8 more days and i am back in school.....think i am counting the days.......
so there will be daddy sadie nights again and lets say i think the two of them are really looking forward to getting me out of the house
sadie has declared her independence with a vengance which has been great to watch but that girl is on a mission

still working on the house as always....going to start some inside soon along with replace the lean toos roof oh i mean the garage roof
