week 7 & 8....back to work

we started back to work last week
UGH!
lets say that trying to function on a "normal" persons schedule is hard
i am only working part time till october but poor aaron is working 40 hours a week
not sure what is making him tired perhaps waking up at 5:00 every morning or spending 9 hours a day away from his little sweet heart
the big question is how is sadie doing with all of this:
well grandma "mimi" is watching her and loving her every day
grandma stops by at the house every morning kisses her and hugs her as sadie watches her daddy get ready for work
i guess the second day aaron left she just cried and cried not wanting to see her daddy go bye bye
she has decided eating with a bottle is bad but is getting better
so our new routine : (old routine consisted of waking up when sadie wanted to wake up, take naps when sadie wanted to take a nap, go to bed when sadie wanted to go to bed) (we liked this routine)
we wake up at 5:00 bec feeds and changes diaper
aaron makes breakfast
6:00 aaron is on sadie duty bec showers
6:50 bec takes sadie back for second feeding or snuggle
7:00 aaron makes lunches
7:30 bec leaves for work and who knows what happens after that
but sadie is really happy when grandma mimi arrives at 8:30
one of aaron's and sadie's favorite things to do in the morning is exercise
aaron sits her down at her exercise mat and she kicks and screams with delight well aaron does sits ups and stretches!
(aaron tries to focus on exercise but gets a little side tracked at the giggling squeals from his baby girl so usually he just lays down next to her and plays!)
the first week back we have survived.....barely but we did it!
so now we are on week 2 and sadie is 8 weeks old!
she laughs and plays she tries to roll over completely she can hold her head up, grab aaron's glasses, spit her binky out across the room, make lots of new little sounds, tell stories about the things that grumble in her tummy and EAT a lot!
until next week enjoy the pictures!
love to all

week 5 & 6...baby containers!

the one thing i never expected to learn about was how many ways one can contain a baby!
for example:
we have a bassinet to contain in the bedroom, a crib for her nursery, a pack-n-play for the living room, a bouncy chair for the dining room, and a cradle for the study, (so mom or dad can sit on the computer with one leg rocking the cradle....otherwise it is the fine art of typing with one hand which i have gotten really good at!), a stroller for walks (she's not a big fan of the stroller though), a car seat to contain her in the car, and baby bondage otherwise known as her baby backpack which she loves!
oh i forgot a baby bathtub for water containment!

anyways sadie's development at 5/6 weeks....
time does go quickly it is hard to believe how much she has grown in just a few weeks.
she has started saying goo and aaaaa, she loves kicking in her crib and has added a new sound a scream of delight!
she took a swimming bath with mom last night and loved it!
she went shopping at IKEA and picked herself out a little rug for the nursery
aside from that she is wonderful she is sleeping about three hours at night so mom is getting a little more sleep, she can lift her head up real high and keep it up for a LONG time, which stills scares us.....she is super strong
she has started launching herself off of bellies by getting her toe into the belly button and pushing which is great fun for her
she loves napping with mom and dad any chance she can get
our napping days are almost over though
it is time to think about work and school once again (bec is trying to put off the home improvement for a little longer...though we did start to go through the basement, the study, and the garage in attempts to get organized once again)
that is all for now!
sadie goes back to the doc's august 18 and bec goes back the august 2 to find out if she is allowed to go back to work...
if sadie starts walking and doing our taxes in the next week i will let you all know
otherwise we are on parental time which means i have no idea when i will update it again
until than
love!

week 4 learning to type with one hand

sadie at one month in her party dress!
so what has been happening.....
sadie went in for her second doctors visit...she is now
22 1/2 inches long and 10 lbs 13 ounces!
think she is getting enough to eat?
at one month sadie has traveled cleveland
she has been to the zoo with grandma bristol, trader joes, tommy's restaurant, cleveland museum of art, and babies-r-us to buy her soon to be arriving little cousin some cool things!
she had a great visit with grandma bristol who read her the runny babbit by shel silverstein
sadie was very sad to see grandma fly back home to Rhode Island but she sends her little bird calls of love
aside from that aaron and i are changing diapers and feeding her trying to get some sleep
she has started sleeping about three hours every night but that is after a five hour eating frenzy
i think we have a stress eater on our hands! aaron spends every night talking to sadie about how the day went and all the exciting things she has seen.
everyday she changes a little her hair is getting lighter and a little redder, her toes are big and her fingers super long, she still has really dark blue eyes so we are not sure what color they will turn out, she is growing out of all newborn clothes and is moving onto big girl clothes, soon she will be asking for a cell phone and the keys to the car!
remember we try and update the picture weekly so check out http://www.bristolarts.com/sadie/main.php and enjoy watching her grow with us!
she still loves to be swaddled and loves being held ALL the time, she laughs and of course she cries but that is usually when we are giving her a bath, she loves being in the car, and hearing the vacuum cleaner can not wait for her to walk so she can start vacuuming! frankie the cat is still avoiding her and all the electronic things and is still leaving bird parts on the front porch so she has not totally disowned us.
until next week......
