yeah - i did it again
i just stopped writing and i stopped posting pictures
i promise promise promise i will update - might take me some time to back fill but i promise i will
so please keep checking back and you will surprised at how much both Sadie and Silas have grown over the past year!

slow slow little blogger am i...
seriously - i have no idea what happens - i think about updating the blog on a regular basis but never seem to get around to it - mostly it is a time thing - I HAVE NONE!!!
and i know you are sitting there reading this thinking - i don't want to hear her complain about her lack of time i want to know what those kids have been up too
and they have been busy - so halloween came and went and we had like 2 weeks before we started the x-mas fun!!!
so we had thanksgiving and went for a nice hike since it was like 60+ degrees out
which honestly i like the warm winter thing i do expect snow on turkey day or at least to be wearing a sweater - but we ate and ate and napped and napped - so that is what i call i successful thanksgiving day
during this time we had no camera so i have few pictures but i will find some and post them
to start our x-mas festiveness we went to farmpark for our annual toy building workshop with santas elves and sadie got to talk to Santa about ALL she wants for x-mas
you may ask were was Silas during this visit???
the little guy does not do well on fridays - actually none of us do well on fridays - we usually are all at the point of melting
and that is what happened Si could not wait in line ANYMORE and melted, collapsed, he was melted butter on a hot summer day - collapsed in daddy's arms they both went to the car for a short winter nap
Sadie full of sugar and x-mas spirit kept going like a well you know a kid that is still sneaking halloween candy :)
we tried to keep this year mellow - as we are still adjusting to the schedule of school
but even trying to keep things mellow we had something every day every weekend for the entire month of Nov and Dec....but now we sit only a few days away from the BEST day of the year
our x-mas pageants are done
Silas was a shepard with a little lamb, Sadie was in the knowledgeable nutcracker and was a wonderful twirly flower

Please halloween candy go away
ok - Halloween was weird this year thanks to Frakenstorm Sandy
Halloween was suppose to be on wednesday night but was canceled because of the storm
which i have to say we unfortunately survived - ok let me put this in context for you - we survived which was great - our house, garage and car survived also but that was not great
Aaron and I were really hoping for a new garage/lean to and we were thinking a new roof would be nice.....hoping that 80 mph winds would sort of help us out a bit - but NOOOOO nothing happened our 2 trees are still standing strong and i am starting to wonder if they glued our roof on
the point of this is not to cry over the fact that our house survived and no tree landed on my car it has to do with trick o treating!
so the city of cleveland rescheduled halloween trick or treating to saturday!! yipppeeee- totally looking forward to that - but than they canceled it for saturday
like anyone in the sity of cleveland actually listens to the Mayor - the kids were still dropped off by the van fulls at the end of the street
and Sadie and Si still got to walk the street and get a bunch of candy - i love halloween and trick o treating but i am ready for the candy to BE GONE!!!
and this is the reason why:

no new posts since JULY!!!!!!
ok - i am bad very very bad - and I apologize for not getting any new posts out there -
so this is what i am going to do or at least try to
yes - i am going to back fill and tell you everything that has happened since JULY!
now won't that be exciting
since July we have played and grown up - and started school
so be patient with me as i try and remember EVERYTHING and keep checking back - I am hoping to do this in order but who knows....so oyu may have to scroll through things
i got a lot to catch everyone up on

Halloween dance party at Montessori
The kids of been to their school dance - granted it was a "self directed" montessori style dance but none the less it was the first!
Silas ran around pretending people were dragons and and saving damsels in distress - Sadie twirled and why wouldn't one twirl with a big fluffy tutu
as you tell everyone had lots of fun - but every friday is always a challenge since the little people are usually ready to collapse from pure exhaustion
Silas takes a tumbling class on friday's after school with his best buddy Theo
Silas is still having a hard time listening during tumbling as well as actually tumbling - but he is doing great with jumping and running :)

warm days in october - hoping it is not indian summer
when the weather has been good we have made it down to the beach to collect beach glass and sing!!!
Sadie is learning lots of new songs at school - including singing Happy Birthday in Mandarin
sort of crazy to have Sadie teach us Mandarin - but it is working Silas can almost sing the entire song!
As you can see form the pictures Silas's hair is growing -but growing curly more than anything else - and it is a bit crazy but until he starts complaining I have no interest in cutting those curls!
Sadie wants to grow her hair again to be like a princess - but we tell her she is a princess no matter what her hair looks like (damn Disney)....

Date with Sadie and the purple balloons!
Sometimes i get to ditch work and play with the kids - that is about the only thing i can say about school
when they have early release days i get to play!!!!
and i do love to play
so Sadie had an early release day recently and it was wonderful! the day was bright and sunny and warm!
on these days i do nothing but drive to the places Sadie tells me to go - it is her special day to do what ever she wants whenever she wants
this time she wanted to go to the art museum
she continually keeps telling aaron and i that she is going to be a bongo playing artist - so the first thing she does when she comes home from school is change out of her "work" clothes into her art clothes or her princess clothes and she starts to draw or write her book!
so what is it about purple balloons?
the art museum has an exhibit right now - the artist filled a very large room perhaps 800/900 sq feet with purple balloons all the way to the 20 ft ceiling
you walk into the room and are surrounded by balloons it is a very odd feeling but once you let go of the claustrophobic feeling it is so much fun!!!!! (though i did hold onto Sadie really tightly)
we walked around the entire room before sitting outside to eat hot dogs!
it was the best day EVA!

October - time to start celebrating halloween
we started celebrating halloween early this year
the first week of october we got dressed up in our homemade costumes
Sadie "Strawberry ShortCake Princess" - not to be mistaken as strawberry shortcake because there is a princess involved in this
Silas "Superhero Shark Knight" i have no idea where this one came from but this was a challenging costume to try and figure out - once created though it became a fun master piece!
this year i have learned about the glue gun which is important because i fear i will be making halloween costumes for years to come :)
our first adventure was going on a trick or treat hike at the holden arboretum!
it was cold and rainy but we still did it the leaves had just started turning brilliant colors - sugar maples bright red!!pictures always say more than words - so here is the start of our halloween fun!!!

DARTH Sadie!
we have done it - yes we have introduced star wars to the children
so it has taken some time to get a routine down - but we are getting there
every friday night is pizza movie night
and this past friday night we watched Star Wars - not sure what the kids really thought of it since we only made it about 1/3 into the movie before everyone was ready to collapse but it was fun

popping jewel weed and finding colors
the kids are now old enough to enjoy the fun of popping jewel weed seeds
so we went on a mile long hike which took 3 hours because every few feet we had to stop and pop some more jewel weed seeds!
